Occupational Monitoring and Assessment

Occupational Monitoring and Assessment

Air Noise Environment has extensive experience in occupational sampling and, to minimise costs, this is often completed in conjunction with annual stack emission testing completed for many of our industrial clients. For projects where a specific risk has been identified, we complete extensive on-going sampling over the medium to long term to provide an appropriate sample dataset for confirming compliance with the relevant occupational exposure standards.

We maintain a range of occupational sampling equipment including portable gas detection devices and loggers, sorbent tubes and particulate sampling pumps. Our experience in occupational sampling encompasses a broad range of target compounds in air including:

  • Acid gases
  • Benzene
  • Carbon dioxide (CO2)
  • Crystalline silica
  • Formaldehyde
  • Hydrogen sulphide
  • Inspirable particulates
  • Isocyanates
  • Metals
  • Nitrogen Oxides (NOx)
  • Pesticides
  • Respirable particulates
  • Semi-Volatile Organic Compounds;
  • Sulphur Oxides (SOx)
  • Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)

Project Examples:

  • Investigation of occupational exposure issues for a major retailer on the Sunshine Coast, including assessment for mould, formaldehyde, VOCs, pesticides and carbon monoxide.
  • Particulate and crystalline silica monitoring for a major infrastructure construction site in Brisbane.
  • Formaldehyde monitoring for workers at a chemical manufacturing facility in Brisbane.
  • Particulate exposure monitoring for a domestic cleaning product manufacturer in Sydney.
  • Nitrogen dioxide, carbon dioxide and particulate sampling for selected areas of Darwin International Airport.
  • Monitoring of potential exposure to acid gases for staff maintaining operating battery operated forklift trucks.
