Acoustic Control Solutions

Control Solutions - Image 1

Where unacceptable noise impacts are occurring from an existing noise source, specific detailed investigation of the noise levels, frequency spectra and potential control options is commonly completed to allow development of control solutions. A combination of monitoring, inspection and (where appropriate) modelling is often completed to allow the characteristics of the noise source to be accurately assessed, with modelling used to test control solution options.

Examples of previous projects include:

  • Ambient baseline noise monitoring (to determine criteria and provide a baseline for future comparison) and modelling of tunnel mechanical plant noise levels for the NSBT project to allow specification of the required acoustic attenuators for the project.
  • Monitoring, investigation and recommendation of mitigation options for rooftop plant affecting a Penthouse Apartment in a high rise building on the Gold Coast.
  • Monitoring and recommendation of control solutions for air conditioning plant installed at a childcare centre in Mossman, New South Wales following a complaint investigation notification from the Local Council.
  • Source noise monitoring and investigation of impacts of plant at an existing shopping centre on neighbouring residential property, following complaints from local residents.
  • Source noise investigation of external pumps and equipment, to determine the cause of a noise complaint and identify potential control solutions, in Gympie.
  • Source noise monitoring and assessment of compliance with contractual requirements for noise emissions for a water treatment facility at Hemmant.
